The parkland grounds of Fort Amherst are open free of charge 7 days a week from dawn to dusk.
Tunnel Tours take place every day at 11.00am and 2.00pm. Additional tours may be run at busy times. Please see our Tunnel Tours page for further information and to book.
Cafe and Visitor Centre:
Cafe and Visitor Centre open daily from 8am to 4pm; enjoy drinks, snacks & superb light lunches.
We regret that dogs, with the exception of guide and therapy dogs, are not permitted on site, other than to use the designated footpath which runs through the grounds. All dogs must be on a lead whilst in the grounds of the Fort.

The tunnels are regrettably unsuitable for wheel chairs and those of limited mobility. Disabled parking, access and toilet facilities are available at the Visitor Centre in the Caveyard.
Toilets are available in the Visitor Centre including a disabled facility.
Guide Book and Shop:
The Guide Book (price £3) contains a site map and full information on the site. There is also a small shop within the Visitor Centre which sells souvenirs and gift items.
