Run from 3rd - 9th May 2025, Fort Amherst will be hosting several activities celebrating the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.
New for 2025 we will be introducing our World War Two tour, exploring areas of the Fort that have rarely been open to the public. This tour lasts for approximately 1 hour and will show you our newly refurbished Air Raid Precaution Centre, Memorial Garden and new exhibition in the Gatehouse. Highlighting the importance of Fort Amherst during World War Two in defending Medway.
On Monday 5th May 2025 we will be hosting a VE Day Knees Up, celebrating like it's 1945! Bring a picnic or book our VIP experience for a delicious afternoon tea with dedicated guaranteed seating. Listen to the live music of the era from Sarah Jane and enjoy an afternoon of celebration and nostalgia. All those dressed in 1945 attire receive a complimentary cupcake from the Cannon Cafe and Over 80s go free (ID will be required)
Before the event we are also asking all children to help us colouring in our bunting which we will be displaying throughout site. Each child will receive a free ticket to the VE Day Knees Up for their effort (one child free per paying adult). See below for more information.

All you need to do is download and print one of the flags below, colour in and then send a photo to us at admin@fortmaherst.com we will do the rest!
Once received we will send you a code for you to book your free ticket. Your bunting will be on display from 3rd - 9th May 2025.
